Testimonials

Hallo Doug!

How time does fly - I can’t believe we were tearing around the desert just 2 weeks ago! Joaquin is back to school already since Monday, and we are all struggling to get back on track after such a leisurely and adventure filled summer.

Thank you so much for everything. The route you wrote out for us when we left proved to be of great help in planning out our week. We were able to hit almost all the spots we wanted to go to, and didn’t feel like we were just driving all the time either. We really had an absolutely fantastic time - we are still telling tales of our perilous adventures aboard the fearless “Aka-charin”, our “house car” extraordinaire. That baby can really zip!! What a machine - we still miss her.

The equipment you provided was also great. We had everything we needed and more. A french press!!! We did not expect that. And having the “his and hers” flashlights was just genius - how did you know? Minato and Joaquin didn’t let go of those things until they were safely curled up in the tent or in the camper. We were able to prepare delicious meals every day with your set-up. Nothing amiss, and everything was clean and well organised.

To top it all off, you were a joy to meet. Just sorry we didn’t have more time to chat. Next time. And if you guys happen to come out this way, or to Tokyo, give us a call, won’t you? Why are all the nice people you meet in America fellow foreigners, eh?
Again, thank you for everything. And we will tell all our friends and esteemed associates heading to Las Vegas about you and “Aka-charin” (“red bicycle”, in Japanese slang, of course). Much good luck to you and your family, and happy end of summer!

With aloha,

-- Francis, Allan, Joaquin and Minato

Doug,

Your van and my vacation equaled a perfect fit.

It was a grand adventure; I’ll start planning the next one.

Thank you for your good and friendly service.

When the wind started blowing about 50 mph at Lake Powell, we were so happy to not be in a tent. When the temp dropped below 25 in Bryce Canyon we were so happy to not be in a tent. When there was no more camping spaces avaliable at Valley of Fire and we were able to park on BLM land to camp we were so happy to have your van.

Thanks again.

See you next year!

-- Becky

“Thanks so much, Doug! It sure was a pleasure. Thanks for being out there doing what you’re doing.
Pictures and notes soon—I promise.”

Hi, Doug (and Ginger),

Congratulations on the upcoming arrival! I WISH we had a picture of the van from last May—when we got home, we had all of these photos of the cool stuff we saw in AZ and the first question everyone had was “I want to see a picture of the van!”

We took a post-cancer treatment do-whatever-we-want-when-we-feel-like-it vacation in part of the country we’d never been to (Grand Canyon, Sedona). Our neighbors called it the “happy Hawley hippy holiday” but this van was very different from how I imagine an older VW van. It drove well, stayed cool, climbed hills, carried all of the good we needed, AND fit in camping sites that were beautiful and not full of giant RVs. Doug could not have been any more accommodating, meeting us with the van and meeting us to pick it up—that van vacation gave us lots of memories and we hope to do it again someday. We have passed along your name to friends with full confidence. Thank you, Leaving Las Vegas Camper Vans!

“Renting a VW camper is THE way to see the desert southwest!  Doug & Ginger met us at the airport, provided us with a totally clean and completely equipped rig, and they were always prompt, helpful, and knowledgeable.  Thanks to Leaving Las Vegas Camper Vans for helping us plan a family adventure of a lifetime!”
