Arches National Park

The defining features of Arches National Park are the fantastic rock formations and natural stone arches that exist in remarkable numbers and variety.  With new ones being discovered, or “born” everyday, it would take many days to see the more than 2000 listed in the park.  Arches is visitor friendly with well maintained trails leading to most of the parks major attractions.  A great family destination, Arches is more easily accessed than most of the Canyonlands and other western parks.  Arches is home to magnificent sunsets, terrain ready to be explored, and tall sandstone cliffs that seem to change to all colors of the rainbow in different lights.  Be on the lookout for mule deer, cottontail rabbits, and bright-green collared lizards.  Your imagination will be free to wander as soon as you enter this spectacular National Park.

INFORMATION: Contact Arches National Park, P.O. Box 907, Moab, UT 84532 (p: 435 719 2299; www.nps.gov/arch).  Entry to Arches National Park for up to 7 days is $20.  Many of the famous rock formations are visible through your car windows although we highly suggest exploring by foot!

CAMPING:  At the north end of the parks scenic drive is the only developed campground.  Devils Garden Campground is nestled among rocks with plenty of pinion and juniper trees.  We recommend reservations during the busy summer months (p: 877 444 6777: www.recreation.gov).  Campsites are $20 per night and back country permits, available at the visitors center, are free.
